There are plenty of things you can do to keep from having a heart attack that many people are not aware of. Most people at this point know that exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet will help to keep you from having a heart attack and out of the hospital, but there is testing being done and reports coming out every single day about things that can help heart disease. Some of the new preventative measures for heart disease are very interesting, and it is almost difficult to believe that they actually do have a positive effect on your body and most importantly your heart. Whenever somebody has a heart attack it is upsetting, because of the abundance of information out there, especially on the Internet. Here are some of the new methods for heart attack and heart disease prevention that have been gaining prominence.
1. Red wine – A glass and a half of red wine every day can reduce your chances of heart disease. For those of you that enjoy a good glass of wine, this is some great news, but for those of you that do not have a taste for wine, drink it down like medicine. You do not want to suffer a heart attack because you did not want to bear the taste of wine. Just sit back at night during your favorite television program and have a drink, it is for your own good.
2. Aspirin – Using aspirin can help those with heart disease or who have suffered a heart attack from problems in the future. It is important that a doctor be consulted before starting an aspirin regimen. Also, if you are using red wine for heart disease prevention, you will have to stop. Alcohol and aspirin can cause stomach issues, such as bleeding. Aspirin can also be used if somebody is in the middle of a heart attack, but that does not mean that emergency services should not be called. Dial 9-1-1, then figure out whether you should take some aspirin to help you.
3. Heart healthy foods – A healthy diet will always help decrease the chances of a heart attack, but there are also certain foods that will have more of an effect when it comes to preventing heart disease. Beans are especially a good choice, because they have a lot of protein and a low amount of fat. Beans are also high in fiber too. Extra virgin olive oil is also a good alternative to butter. Having too much butter in your diet can be a cause for heart disease, while extra virgin olive oil will be actually be helping your heart. Find other foods that can help to keep a heart attack away.
Having a heart attack or heart disease is upsetting for anybody involved, and figuring out what steps to take for prevention can be a family activity.
